Wrapup From October 13 Day of Prayer and Healing
Well, besides being a bit on the chilly side, the day went rather well for those who attended.
For those of you who have been asking, Patti Pope did very well in her speaking engagement and her story touched a few nerves of those in the audience. Hers is just one of the many personal journeys that have been made through these walls, but her faith and courage in bringing Mary's children to this place is without equal.
Thank you for sharing your story Patti. Maybe we will have time for you to get into more details on our next Day of Prayer and Healing.
Alex Fiato gave a wonderful lecture on the history of this property and the roles that the local bishops have played throughout its spiritual history. The number of Imprimaturs and statements that have been signed in the offices of this structure are astounding. So many special visitors, including Archbishop Fulton Sheen and Archbishop John Noll (two Archbishops who never sat in the chair of and Archdiocese) were frequent dinner guests of each other here as they stayed on weekend retreats together. The provenance is extremely compelling.
Irv Kloska and Larry Young also gave informative and formative talks and took questions from those gathered. The audience seemed well-informed and very concerned about the potential consequence of this property not being preserved for future guests and pilgrims. The feeling was genuine and the issues discussed were heartfelt.
Afterward, Irv Kloska met with all who wanted to be prayed over in The Our Lady Mother of Mercy Chapel where the apparitions took place. It was a very moving experience for those who gathered.
Before leaving, a number of pilgrims made their way to Holy Family Hill with their cameras and rosaries. They were received by a pleasant view of the spinning sun as it cast off an array of beautiful colors and pulsed like a heartbeat. We will do our best to post the photos for you here ASAP.
Please pray for the success of OLTIV in securing the necessary financial help to secure the property for use as a place of prayer and pilgrimage and as a home for retired priests and religious who can live in Catholic Community together and provide the pastoral care so necessary to those who visit.
Please pray for those in attendance at the EWTN Radio Conferences this week that they may see the wisdom in promoting the Our Lady of America devotion in all ways available to them.
